Recently, CIIDS Founding Chairman Zheng Bijian gave an exclusive interview to the CGTN’s "DEEP DIVE" program of China Media Group, offering in-depth insights into how the concept of "Peaceful Rise of China" has instilled confidence globally, what new prospects Chinese modernization will bring to the world, and why "Understanding China" has proven a necessity the world over.

Amidst a world overshadowed by the rising specter of conflicts and segmented by relentlessly high tariff barriers, with uncertainties escalating daily, Zheng Bijian once again offered his observations, thoroughly expounding on the inherent logic and the promise China’s development holds for the wider world. When addressing a question regarding the "China Threat" and the "coming collapse of China" narratives that were once dominating the international public opinion, Zheng gave a recollective account of how the "Peaceful Rise of China" concept was put forth and how it has since developed, emphasizing that "The world has many questions about a rising China, and we must provide a good answering to them, so that the world can well and truely understand China".

Many endeavors to this end have been undertaken by Zheng over the years, and one of the latest is his book titled“咬定青山不放松”, in which Zheng has encapsulated his thoughts on a range of issues of high contemporary relevance over the past decade or more, including comprehensively deepening the reform and opening up, the strategy of China’s Peaceful Rise, major-country diplomatic relations, economic globalization, and the Chinese modernization.
