Understanding China Conference is an annual event.
This year it was held in Guangzhou, Guangdong’s Province.
Guangdong’s population exceeds 128 million people becoming China’s most populated Province. Guangzhou the biggest city, one of the 21 administrative divisions and boasts about 19 million people.
Guangdong being very outward looking since its early days attracts a lot of investors.
Guangdong’s population like the country China is very hospitable a trait not seen in many countries but proudly very much like Ni-Vanuatu (people from Vanuatu).
It is very much Guangdong’s inclusion I believe that will make the development of the Bay Area successful. I also believe that this project will contribute immensely to the positiveness of the modernization principle and one that will show the world at large the innovative dreams of China.
While the government of the People’s Republic of China must be commended for such policy decisions, the leaders at all level of the administrative division of Guangdong must be congratulated for their commitment and visions of its implementation.
The conference gathers prominent leaders, academia individuals and professionals from the business sector this year emphasizing the innovations contributing to modernization.
First and foremost is the relevance of the theme of the conference.
As mentioned at the meeting with His Excellency Mr. Li Shulei, member of the Politburo that, at this time of uncertainty in the global sphere, understanding oneself must be the basis of understanding the world. Therefore it would be in the interest of world peace and development for other countries especially the developed countries and strong economies to also understand themselves followed by getting other countries to understand them.
The contributions from the Chinese presenters shows clearly the trend in which China is taking and the predictions of where China will be positioned in less than a decade.
The contributions from the visiting presenters echoes what the world knows about China but refuses its reality.
The logic I see is:
1. Everybody have friends and genuine friends are those that will stand with you in good times and bad times. Therefore if you see your friends in trouble, you must want to see how as a friend you can help.
2. What is the purpose of sanctions if you genuinely want the best livelihood for the global societies?
3. Is it possible that the effects of the sanctions is the catalyst for the prolongation of the war?
If I may suggest that more visitors be invited to attend/participate in the coming conferences as this should get a wider understanding of the objectives of the 15th Five Year Plan and its contribution to global peace and development.
I thank you for the opportunity to attend the conference with my daughter and two grand daughters, who now understand more about China and some global issues, and to participate.
