On the afternoon of June 19, 2024, the China Institute for Innovation & Development Strategy (CIIDS) held a seminar on "The Impact of Geopolitics on Chinese Enterprises" in Beijing. The seminar was jointly initiated by Lyu Benfu, Vice Chairman of CIIDS and professor at the School of Economics and Management at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), and Tang Xiaoyang, Professor at the Department of International Relations at Tsinghua University. The seminar was moderated by Lyu Benfu.
Mr. Wang Boyong, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CIIDS, pointed out in his speech that the concept of "Technological Geopolitics" is very innovative and closely related to the needs of enterprises and national strategies, and holds pioneering research value. Through this seminar, it is hoped to gain a deeper understanding of strategic choices, successful cases, and challenges faced by enterprises in technological innovation and application amidst a complex and changing geopolitical environment.
Centered on the theme, the seminar delved into topics such as the reconstruction of the new energy product supply chain, the formulation of international carbon trade standards, the maintenance of financial security, and the "going global" of cultural products. Suggestions were also made on how to leverage technology to promote the development of both domestic and international innovation ecosystems.
